He records cars driving over an unmarked pothole from a gas station, and people are amazed: "After that, the radio went down."

A line of cars was moving normally along a Cancún avenue until, suddenly, several ended up making an unexpected jump. The cause was right in front of them: a newly installed pedestrian overpass without proper signage, which surprised drivers and caused sudden maneuvers when they landed on the asphalt.

The speed bump had been installed on a busy road and, at the time of filming, had no visible paint or signs to warn of its presence.

The recording, taken from a gas station, shows how the vehicles approach without slowing down and end up rising several inches off the ground. In one case, a dark-colored car slams down hard as it lands, risking losing control. Among the reactions captured in the audio, the person recording the moment stands out, commenting: "That was close."

The incident occurred on Bonampak Avenue, a busy road near schools. Neighbors had requested measures to protect pedestrians, especially students, which led to the installation of the overpass.

However, the initial lack of signage and reflective paint turned this measure into a dangerous obstacle for those who weren't warned. "After that, the radio went down," said one.

In another segment of the video, a car traveling at high speed passes over the speed bump without realizing it, lifts off the ground, and nearly loses its trajectory. The scene was dubbed the Cancun Challenge by internet users and generated several comments calling for immediate intervention to prevent a serious accident.

Following the controversy, local authorities assured that the installed element complies with Mexican regulations as it is an elevated pedestrian crossing. They also noted that visible signs and reflective paint have already been installed to prevent a repeat of the incident. This time, the pavement seems to give plenty of warning, although more than a few will still think about that jump before hitting the accelerator.
